Controversa Advent Calendar

We asked Roberta Rossetti to help us make it even more wonderful!
We wanted to represent the Magic of Waiting, we did it with the Controversa Advent Calendar.

Now available, the Advent Calendar has arrived, reminiscent of the Northern European design mixed with the sweetness of the elements of a traditional Christmas.
It is the Advent Calendar signed Controversa- 2022.

How to tell you about Roberta and the power of sweetness that translates into illustration?
We could have put a lot of words together, but we wouldn’t have made up our minds.
So we had her do it!

Roberta, tell us about yourself...
"I am a freelance illustrator with my feet in the mountains of Turin and my head always on the road.
I studied scenography and costume at the Accademia Albertina in Turin and I attended several specialized courses in Editorial Illustration.
I am mainly dedicated to creative projects aimed at children and families, whether it be publishing, communication campaigns for brands and companies, but also training for adults with proposals for courses and workshops.
Drawing for me is a great adventure, a journey that allows me to observe the world with the gaze of fantasy, a living discipline that can be defined in infinite ways.
I work with traditional techniques such as watercolor, colored pencils and collage. The material component is essential for me.
My illustrations find home in the books, but also in coloring and activity books, textiles, packaging and patterns".

Roberta, how did you envision the waiting for Christmas and what does it represent for you?
"The wait for Christmas is for me a slow time, made of silence and listening. The days are gradually shorter, you find yourself at home looking for warmth and shelter.
These are unique days, where we have the opportunity to think about how we can make the people around us happier, a time to find our rhythm.
Days made of simple and special moments: a cup of herbal tea to warm your hands, the scent of orange on the stove, the Italian panettone eaten for breakfast and a letter, keeper of desires.
These are the main elements that I included in the pattern dedicated to the Advent of Controversa, a selection of small moments to share with those we love, or for ourselves.
A palette that speaks of winter, frost on the lawns and illuminated windows from which comes the scent of spices and biscuits."

We wanted a Calendar that would allow us to live all these feelings, to feel the scents, to look at the colors: a sweet and anxious wait.
Now we can say it... "It’s beginning to look (a lot) like Xmas"!
