Let's go back to Gaia. Let's go back to Earth

GaiaControversa is a project that was born last year from an idea of the female-led Team that guides Controversa.

We wondered how we could concretely realize our commitment to the environment, how we could sail in the sea of sustainability that often has waters that are too deep, where seeing clearly is difficult.

Controversa chooses, during the last year, to go beyond environmental sustainability by embracing what we commonly know as the three "P's": people, planet, and profit.
Our business aims to be transparent, like the sea water when it approaches the shore.

We wanted to produce a reversible box to eliminate waste.
Choosing Controversa for shipments means that a second protective box is not necessary. Our box is designed to be reused: it is a storytelling tool for companies and a complement for those who choose it.

In addition, we researched certified FSC paper. We took a step further by choosing Crush Paper and Algae Paper, products that derive from the research and development of Favini. Food waste finds a second life, as does the vegetation of the water that was at risk of representing a huge problem for the lagoon of Venice.

Last year, GaiaControversa was born. All that we have described above found order in a green proposal, dedicated to the earth, designed for our customers. This year we continue the project, making it even more precious with Pretiosa.

Pretiosa, a Controversa that exists thanks to the work of the illustrator Giorgia Bressan.
Through Giorgia's illustrations, we tell about a nature to be protected, plants to be preserved, a fruitful and harmonious interweaving of different elements that find space in a common environment.

We talk about oxygen, attention, rarity, and respect.
From the graceful trace and delicate colors, Alpine Star, Fern, Egadi Cabbage, Hibiscus Pentacarpos, Venetian Salicornia, and Pulsatilla Vulgaris take shape, all endangered species that offer us the opportunity to talk about uniqueness, care, and responsibility.

Pretiosa is the name we have chosen to tell and share our attention towards something that is truly precious: nature, the earth, water, air, and its wonders that in a more than univocal relationship color Controversa.

About Giorgia Bressan

Giorgia Bressan graduated in Fashion Design in 2009.
In 2016, she opened her own studio as a freelance designer and illustrator. Her watercolor drawings evoke carefree and vintage imagery, the result of a personal reinterpretation of the natural world and inspirations drawn from 1950s, 60s, and 70s design and fashion.
The technique she most often uses is watercolor on paper, which gives a recognizable aesthetic to her projects.
To create patterns and meet client needs, she combines watercolor with digital tools, developing a unique mixed technique.
She collaborates with various companies, especially in the fashion, design, food, and natural cosmetics sectors.
She also works as a drawing teacher, organizing courses for adults and assisting at the IUAV University of Venice (Faculty of Fashion Design).
She lives and works in Portogruaro (VE).
