Alice Pasinetti illustrated Controversa's first Christmas in 2020!

Alice Pasinetti is a freelance illustrator who lives and works in Brescia: her imagination is told by light watercolor brush strokes, the technique in which she has specialized.

Childhood memories and the mountains in summer, nature and art, cinema: LittlePinealice has helped to build our visual idea of a “Controversa Christmas” during our first launch.

The patterns we used for our boxes led us into green woods and blue ice where a small fox peeped out. We asked her to be part of our "Le Donne di Controversa" format to talk about her inspirations and what she thinks about our project.

Hello Alice! We have known each other for a while now but we would like you to introduce yourself again: we would like to do it in Controversa mode! Thinking of a box that contains a kit that tells the story of yourself, what would we discover?

Hi girls! Surely in my Controversa kit you could find a notebook, some watercolors, a camera, a book (probably one I’ve started reading and never finished), a sprig of pine and some pine cones. I also find these objects on every sideboard or bedside table scattered around my house :)

Which aspects of your job do you like the most?

The aspect I love the most about this work is the fact that I can enter "my world" while drawing, and it’s priceless.
I think I have recreated a working environment in tune with my taste and in which I feel at ease. In my studio room there is a lot of light, white walls, the warmth of wood and a lot of music.

Another aspect that I really like is the direct contact with people and their support. Making illustrations for someone that appreciate them is wonderful.

Looking back, what has been a challenge in your career path?

The biggest challenge was certainly to start this path, amid a thousand doubts and uncertainties. As for the work, every project, whether large or small, represents a challenge. I always try to illustrate a thought or a concept with the intention of making it unique and different from previous works by finding inspiration in various areas, especially nature. And mountains, to which I am very attached.

What were the particularly shiny moments?

Thanks to my work, I have had the opportunity to meet many people that I feel connected to, I have had the opportunity to confront with them and to start new collaborations and projects that I loved making.

Why did you choose Controversa for your business?

Part of my work concerns the management of my online shop and the people who buy my products place a sort of trust during the purchase. I think Controversa is like a surprise, a “thank you box” for those who receive the package and discover its beauty.

How did you use your Controversa boxes?

I used two of them, one contains some Christmas decorations, while the other contains some sticks and snapshots taken during some trips.

Controversa was born as a tool for different businesses and therefore also for yours: what would you desire for your professional future? Are there any other tools you feel the need for?

In my future I hope to see new accessories that integrates the Controversa offer and of course I would like to create a line of products each with its own illustrated packaging.

Who would you recommend Controversa to?

Controversa is perfect for small independent brands but also for big brands: the thought behind Controversa should be common and aimed at a sustainable future, especially in terms of online sales and all that that entails.
